Coming soon: Localhostr Uploadr for OS X
The Localhostr Uploadr will be a major rewrite of the localhostr widget. It will sit in your menu bar or dock, rather than in the dashboard, and will feature major speed and interface improvements. It will drop the traditional widget feel that the localhostr widget has had since its inception, and will instead tightly integrate itself into OS X through context menus in the Finder and a menubar applet. Stay tuned for details!
Update (1.3.0) released May 12, 2009
This update adds the option to use min.ie URL's (useful for tweeting), fixes several minor bugs, and cleans up a lot of code.
Easy, fast, simple.
The Localhostr widget sits in your dashboard, and is available at the press of a key. Just drag any file, 50 megabytes or smaller, onto the widget, your file will upload, and all you need to do is click “Copy URL”, and your file can be shared with anyone instantly.

Always at your fingertips.
Every time you upload a file, its address will be saved into your “Recently Uploaded Files”, and will stay there until you say differently. In addition, with a localhostr account, the widget will add each file to your account history for access from any computer, anywhere in the world.

Beautiful, elegant design.
The widget was designed to be simple to use, and easy to look at. It can be expanded to show several items, or shrunk down so it will only show an item when you upload it. You’ll look forward to uploading a file, just so you can see the widget itself.

Up to date.
The localhostr widget is maintained with help from the developers of the service itself. As a result, it will always work, and even has a built in update checker, so you’ll never be left with a non-working widget.

And more!
Everything about this widget was carefully thought out: there's Growl support (if available), multiple file uploads by dragging more than one file at a time, and even more. The only way to discover the added features is by trying it out for yourself!
